Digital Literacy Week

Celebrating The Digital Literacy week

The Digital Literacy week is week long initiative that is being undertaken by the partner organizations of the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) including Intel, DEF, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, NIIT and NASSCOM Foundation. During this week, employees from these partner organizations are encouraged to volunteer to provide adult learners an opportunity to improve their social and economic self-sufficiency through digital literacy. The program offers proven adult learning techniques to teach practical and relevant digital skills to learners with little or no prior computer experience.
We urge employees of these organizations based in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Pondicherry to come forward and take part in this drive. In Mumbai our associate organization Pragatee Foundation will take initiative in arranging training at Ghatkopar (Mumbai Subrub), Byculla (Mumbai City) and Kalwa (Thane) NKN Centre.
Program Details
During the digital literacy week, NASSCOM Foundation will identify some centres in all above said locations, where digital literacy has to be imparted and will contact boot camps for employee volunteers from partner organizations to train them on NKN – NASSCOM Foundation’s Digital Literacy Program.
Training Plan : In Mumbai from 9th Dec 2013 to 13th Dec 2013.
• 5 days during National Digital Literacy Week.
• 2 Batches of 3 hours each per day.

This will help India take a lead in the global digital economy, maintain competitiveness, and shape a technologically empowered society.
